On behalf of our client MESCO Engineering, an international engineering company specialising in electronic and software development for factory and process automation, Clipcon Recruitment is looking for an experienced Team Leader – Embedded Software Development to join and lead the software development team in Sarajevo.

MESCO has been operating internationally since 1990, while its Sarajevo office was established in 2019. The company’s core areas of expertise include embedded software and electronics development, industrial communication, factory and process automation, functional safety and explosion protection.

About the Role

The Team Leader will take responsibility for the software development activities in Sarajevo and provide both technical and people leadership to a team of five embedded software engineers.

This is a role for an experienced engineer who combines a strong background in embedded software development and software architecture with proven Team Lead experience and hands-on knowledge of Robotics or Factory Automation.

The position reports to the Head of R&D and works closely with the wider international R&D organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage embedded software development activities in Sarajevo.
• Provide technical leadership and professional guidance to the software development team.
• Act as a Software Architect and support architectural and technical decision-making.
• Ensure the consistent application of software development processes, standards and best practices.
• Build and further develop the team’s competencies in embedded software development.
• Support competence development in Functional Safety.
• Coordinate and support organisational activities related to the Sarajevo software team.
• Collaborate with international R&D colleagues and contribute to cross-location projects.
• Depending on experience, take on additional responsibilities as a Project Manager and/or System Architect.

What We Are Looking For

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development and software architecture.
• Minimum 2–3 years of previous Team Lead experience.
• Strong experience in embedded software development.
• Professional programming experience in C.
• Experience in Robotics or Factory Automation.
• Ability to technically lead and mentor software engineers.
• Understanding of structured software development processes and standards.
• Experience with Ethernet-based fieldbus / industrial communication technologies.
• Good command of English.
• Willingness to travel to Germany and/or customer locations when required.
