Our client specializes in electronic and software developments for factory and process automation. Core expertise includes remote I/Os and field devices, with a focus on R&D services for automation and industrial communication, particularly in fieldbus/Ethernet implementations, designs for explosive areas, and Functional Safety.
The Senior Software and Automation Manager will lead the software development efforts in Sarajevo, overseeing a team of embedded software development engineers. The role involves ensuring the use of current processes and standards, expanding the team’s competencies in software development, and managing organizational tasks for the Sarajevo office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software architecture, team leadership, and automation in manufacturing or process settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the software development team in Sarajevo, providing technical and professional guidance.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices, processes, and standards in software development.
- Drive the development and expansion of competencies in both standard software development and functional safety.
- Oversee and coordinate the software development activities to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Manage the office’s organizational tasks to ensure smooth operation and collaboration with other departments.
- Collaborate with the Head of R&D in Lörrach to align the Sarajevo team’s goals with the overall company strategy.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Computer Science, or a related field.
- Several years of experience as a software architect and software developer.
- Proven experience as a manager or team leader in a software development environment.
- Experience in factory or process automation, with a strong understanding of relevant technologies and processes is adventage.
- Optional (not mandatory but plus): Experience in the field of functional safety, including knowledge of safety standards and risk assessments.
- Optional (not mandatory but plus): Familiarity with fieldbus systems (Profibus, Profinet, Ethercat) and Ethernet.
